The supportive environment, engaging curriculum, and wide range of activities have helped him grow in every way. We’re so pleased with his progress and the positive community at PBA.” Catherine, parent of a Year 8 “Staff are very happy to work here.” Ofsted - 2024

Our Curriculum The Learning Experience At Pix Brook Academy, we are dedicated to developing positive, proud and perseverant learners who are fully prepared for a lifetime of success. We firmly believe that every student should have the opportunity to reach their full academic and personal potential without prejudice, and our curriculum offers both choice and challenge for all. For our youngest students, the journey begins in Year 5 within a purposebuilt Key Stage 2 environment. These vibrant classrooms are led by our dedicated primary-trained staff, providing a seamless transition from lower school, and again into KS3. Their experience is then significantly enhanced by access to our specialist facilities and resources, allowing pupils to develop their learning in line with their interests from an early age. As they progress into Year 7, the learning model develops into a secondary one whereby students move around our building, but in an environment they know and feel confident in. Students benefit from brand-new facilities and subject-specialist staff, which together foster a deep sense of curiosity about the world around them. Our skilled team of specialist teachers, supported by our framework of visible consistencies, ensures that learning time is not wasted. We continuously refine our pedagogical practices to create an environment where all students can flourish, driven by their own engagement and a genuineeagerness to learn. This ethos is at theheart of ourmission toensure every student actively participates in culturally enriching experiences, empowering them to own their actions and shape their future.

Beyond the Classroom Our commitment to academic excellence is matched by our belief in the power of a vibrant life beyond the classroom. We are immensely proud of our diverse and dynamic enrichment programme, which offers a vast calendar of opportunities to suit every interest from Sports to School Parliament, creative arts to coding. Our passionate staff work tirelessly to provide memorable moments through a wide range of clubs, societies and workshops. This rich provision is a vital part of the school day, sparking new interests and allowing students to develop skills, build confidence, and foster a strong sense of community. Beyond the daily routine, our students have countless opportunities to explore the world through residential trips, educational visits, and a host of enriching experiences. We believe that stepping outside the classroom to engage in workshops, competitions, guest speaker events or The Duke of Edinburgh Award provides invaluable realworld learning. These opportunities are central to our mission of building resilience, character, and a sense of global citizenship. We know that providing our pupils with something original, unexpected, or simply different can be the very moment that changes their life, and we are committed to ensuring every student has the chance to thrive and discover their limitless potential. “We can’t say enough good things about PBA!
