School Trip to Imperial War Museum @ Duxford

Last Wednesday, we visited the Imperial War Museum, Duxford. Our visit began with a talk from two war veterans (one of whom had grown up during World War 2). The children listened intently to their stories and answered questions with the sensitivity needed. Both gentlemen were impressed with the standard of questioning from the children. We also enjoyed a tour of 'The Battle of Britain' hangar where one of the volunteers discussed their memories of the war and gave a detailed insight to many of the display items. This was a wonderful trip which has enhanced the children's understanding of World War 2 but also of conflict, our place in History and how different things were a relatively short amount of time ago!
