Year 11 GCSE Revision & Preparation
“Before anything else, preparation is the key to success” – Alexander Graham Bell.
The Key Stage 4 curriculum has been designed to reflect the needs, interests and aspirations of our current cohorts. Pupils are encouraged to follow the English Baccalaureate wherever possible, though they are supported to personalise their studies to shape their own futures. In Key Stage 4 all students are pursuing qualifications in GCSE Mathematics, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature and either GCSE Physics, GCSE Chemistry and GCSE Biology or Triple Science GCSE. Learners will have two lessons of Physical Education and one lesson of Citizenship per week.
We aim to ensure that every child is as well prepared as possible before they take their exams at the end of Year 11 and so we provide them with opportunities to learn, practice and reflect on their progress through end of term testing and mock examinations during Key Stage 4. It is important that students develop effective learning and revision techniques that will support them to reach their peak before final exams and achieve excellent outcomes.
To ensure our students feel fully supported and confident as they prepare for their upcoming examinations, we have put together a comprehensive 'Family Guide' packed with academic top tips and effective revision techniques. Recognising that success and wellbeing go hand-in-hand, this nurturing guide offers practical advice for families on establishing positive study routines at home, alongside helpful signposting to trusted external support networks should you ever need a little extra guidance.
If you have any questions about examinations please contact Mrs A Hough, Data & Examinations Officer, or if you would like further information on the courses on offer, please contact the Head of Department from the course subject.
